What is OpenClaw?
An open-source, self-hosted personal AI assistant that keeps state on the user's machine, works across many messaging channels, and can access files, shells, scripts, browsers, models, and plugins.

OpenClaw demonstrates the appeal of local control, model choice, broad channels, and full-system access. Frontline Max addresses a different operational need by combining personal AI with a managed CRM, structured company memory, native Workflows, and customer-facing AI employees.
How it works
A user installs and operates the assistant on local or controlled infrastructure, selects models, connects channels and tools, persists memory, and grants either sandboxed or broad system access for tasks.
Technical example
A technical user messages OpenClaw through WhatsApp to launch a coding session and open a pull request. A Frontline team can use Max for comparable work while keeping customer records, deals, issues, and follow-ups in the same native system.
Implementation notes
Self-hosting increases control but transfers responsibility for models, infrastructure, secrets, channel connections, security, updates, backups, and governance to the operator. Full system access should be sandboxed and audited.
